Finally, we’ll showcase their breathtaking wedding photos in the hopes that they inspire you to have your own Glacier National Park wedding!

Let’s go!

Why Have a Glacier National Park Wedding?

Here in west Montana, Glacier is our backyard! This iconic national park is home to Montana’s majestic Rocky Mountains and winding hiking trails along which you just might spot a mountain goat or in rarer instances, a grizzly bear! The park also boasts immaculate lakes, untouched forests, pristine waterfalls, and alpine meadows.

Here’s a fun fact about the park that you might not know. Glacier National Park gets its name from the fact that its mountains were formed by ancient ice rivers. Glaciers from years ago actually carved out the mountains’ many peaks and valleys that we have today.

It’s no wonder that Glacier National Park has inspired so many to visit and even get married there! It’s a naturally stunning landscape, where couples can envision their love everlasting just like the mountains themselves.

Trish and Rob decided to have a Glacier National Park wedding for this very reason! When we first met them, this wonderful couple expressed their desire to have a completely unique, outdoor wedding. They wanted to be out in the open within nature and craved wedding photos that were different from anyone else they knew. In their words, they wanted “the ‘wow’ pictures!”

Their Glacier National Park wedding certainly delivered!

A Neutral, Nature-Inspired Wedding Color Palette:

With Glacier’s natural beauty serving as the backdrop for the elopement, we didn’t need to do much in the way of décor. But that doesn’t mean there weren’t chances to put Trish and Rob’s personalized stamp on their Glacier National Park wedding!

They selected a neutral wedding color palette to complement and highlight the lake and surrounding mountains of their ceremony site at Sun Point. Their color palette consisted of white, ivory, cream, champagne, and light greenery.

We used these colors mainly in Trish’s bridal bouquet, Rob’s wedding day attire, and their post-ceremony cake display.

Trish’s bouquet was everything we dreamed of and more! It contained huge, fluffy roses interspersed with pampas grass and eucalyptus. The soft textures of these components created a dreamy and ethereal look to the bouquet, which perfectly matched the light and airy vibe that we aimed for. Rob’s elopement day look tied in with this vibe. He wore a tan suit with a single white bloom and greenery in his boutonniere.

As a final touch, we planned for a single tiered white cake with the same fluffy flowers from Trish’s bouquet. The exterior of the cake had textured buttercream and pearl dots around the bottom perimeter. We set this on a white cake stand and laid an ivory gauze runner down on the table.

Everything about this Glacier National Park wedding was soft and romantic, truly inspired by Montana’s natural beauty!

A Mountain-Inspired Wedding Dress:

One of our favorite parts about Trish and Rob’s Glacier National Park wedding day was seeing Trish’s gorgeous wedding dress in real life! She chose a white sheath gown with a lace pattern on the bodice and a scoop back. The dress’ skirt didn’t have any lace or embellishment. It flowed in the breeze with Trish’s every movement and it perfectly balanced the lace on top!

Trish chose this dress simply because it “made me feel beautiful!” We love that for her and always wish all of our brides the exact same confident feeling!

Trish also shared with us that her 15-year old daughter helped her make the final decision. Trish said, “When she saw me, she said ‘Mom, he’s going to love that dress on you! It’s perfect.’ That’s how I knew it was the one!”

The First Look:

On the day of Trish and Rob’s Glacier National Park wedding, we picked up a couple of things we would need for the day ahead. This included adorable charcuterie boxes from the caterer and the wedding cake. Then, we met the soon-to-be newlyweds at Sun Point for their first look.

Together with their photographer, we set Rob up on a pathway in the nearby forest trees. Trish then walked up behind him and gave him a huge hug. That’s when he turned around and saw his bride!

Rob was instantly overcome with emotion, as he embraced Trish and tears pricked at their eyes. Even though they only brought a handful of their closest loved ones to their elopement, it was still important to them to have the first look be private. This was a moment for just the two of them.

After all the festivities of their Glacier National Park wedding concluded, they told us that this first look was their favorite part of the entire day!

Officiating a Glacier National Park Wedding:

Then, the big moment arrived: It was time to get married! Trish and Rob’s guests gathered at the lake’s shore. The sun was as bright and joyful as it could possibly be, causing the lake to sparkle and shine. It was also the clearest of days, so we could see even the most distant mountains. It was seriously the most beautiful day!

I am always honored to officiate my couples’ wedding ceremonies. We get to know each other so well throughout the planning process that it’s the perfect way to put a cherry on top of our time together! I make sure to include personal details about their love story in the ceremony script, so that it truly feels like them.

Trish and Rob’s Glacier National Park wedding ceremony was joyous and filled with smiles and laughter. They chose to do a unity shot as their unity ceremony, which was such a fun idea!

We set up a small unity table with shot glasses and a bottle of Fireball and Rumchata. During the ceremony, they took a shot at the same time, signifying their solidarity with each other. So fun and original!

After I pronounced them husband and wife for the first time, Trish and Rob kissed and then went to celebrate with their family. It was a spectacular moment!

Cake, Champagne and Adventure Photos:

This Glacier National Park wedding wasn’t over yet! After capturing some sweet family photos, the newlyweds did their cake cutting. Their son then presented them with a heartfelt toast that brought even more tears to the couple’s eyes. Afterwards, they spent quality time with their guests, enjoying cake and champagne, before heading off on an epic adventure session.

We always encourage our couples to do an adventure session while they’re here. Glacier makes for the best photos and the weather really cooperated with us that day to give Trish and Rob the most beautiful experience! They got to see the park’s serene forestry, rushing waterfalls and streams and open fields at sunset. They even found a romantic meadow filled with pink wildflowers! Talk about pure magic!

Don’t just take our word for it though. Check out these EPIC photos!
